Vintage English Bar Cart Trolley Drop Leaf Chinoiserie Butterfly Lacquer Table.

Direct from England, a beautiful hand-decorated English chinoiserie drop-leaf bar cart trolley with butterfly decoupage on a deep black lacquered background.

This table/cart is part of a small group of similarly decorated pieces we have acquired, created by skilled artists demonstrating superb craftsmanship in a hand-decorated chinoiserie style using a decoupage technique.

The rectangular top and both oval drop leaves are richly decorated with butterfly decoupage on a black lacquered background with gold-toned trim edging.  The leaves operate independently, with either one or both raised for additional serving areas when needed.

A full-size lower shelf features raised gallery edges on three sides with the shelf also having butterfly decoupage and wide gold-toned banding to the edges.

The excellent attention to detail by the artist gives this stunning table decorative opulence and a beautiful aesthetic, resulting in a sophisticated addition to today’s home.  

Both beautiful and versatile as a drinks cart or serving table, with five generous serving areas when fully opened.  Quality craftsmanship and construction, with original casters, circa 1920.
