Antique Georgian Revival Chest of Drawers Flame Mahogany Serpentine Carved c1940

Antique Georgian Revival Chest of Drawers Flame Mahogany Serpentine Carved c1940.

Classic and timeless, this beautiful Georgian Revival chest of drawers features a graceful serpentine front and spectacular flame mahogany grain.

The broad serpentine front is fitted with three graduated drawers, each beautifully veneered in bookmatched flame mahogany, creating dramatic movement and symmetry across the façade.

Carved corner pilasters frame the drawers with scrolling foliate detail, while the shaped lower apron and carved feet complete the elegant Georgian Revival silhouette.

Large in scale at over 4 feet wide, the chest offers substantial storage within its elegant low-profile form.

Ornate brass bail pulls complement the warm mahogany tones, adding a refined finishing detail to the richly figured drawer fronts.

Well constructed with traditional dovetailed drawers and solid wood interiors, the chest retains its original maker’s stencil on the back, identifying Parmet Bros. Furniture Co. of Brooklyn, New York, c1940.
