Antique French Commode Chest of Drawers Louis XVI Mahogany Brass c1930.

Direct from France, an elegant antique Louis XVI commode or chest of drawers with a classic silhouette and refined neoclassical details.

The chest features two top drawers over two lower full-width drawers, accented by six ornate ribbon-and-wreath backplates with brass ring pulls.

Subtle gilt edging outlines the paneled drawer fronts, with rounded fluted corners extending the full height of the cabinet and continuing to tapered fluted legs with brass sabots.

Both sides are also paneled and finished with fluted uprights along the back edges, continuing the classic Louis XVI design throughout.

Quality throughout with dovetailed drawers and a vertical plank back; well built by craftsmen of the period, circa 1930.

Measurements:  33.5” Height x 40.25” Width x 19.75” Depth.
