Antique English Faux Bamboo Pine Hall Bench Victorian High Back Settle  c1890.

Direct from England, a striking antique faux bamboo pine bench with a distinctive high back and wonderful English character.

The tall, paneled back is crowned with an elegant broken-arch style pediment centered by a prominent turned finial and accented by matching turned finials to either side.

Below, the beautifully paneled pine back is framed by tall turned faux bamboo posts, adding to the bench’s dramatic scale and presence.  A broad pine seat is flanked by gracefully curved arms with faux bamboo supports, all raised on four wonderfully turned bamboo-form legs.

Quality throughout, well built by craftsmen of the period, circa1890.

Condition:  The bench is in good antique condition with normal signs of age, imperfections in the finish, particularly to the reverse.  The pine seat has a somewhat different tone and finish from the frame. Accompanying photographs are an integral part of the description.
