Antique French Corner Bookcase Carved Oak Louis XV Revival Open Shelves c1920.

Direct from France, a beautiful antique French corner bookcase, heavily carved and very long, providing generous shelf space for storage and display, from books to majolica, sterling silver, and other treasured collections.

Heavily carved throughout with French shell and foliate designs across the upper frieze, scalloped apron and side stiles. With beautiful designs that include small mask carvings above and below, the bookcase has all the charm of the French Louis XV Revival style.

Designed to maximize otherwise unused corner space, the bookcase features open shelving to both sides, with all four shelves adjustable on traditional notched wood runners, allowing for various shelf-height configurations.

Raised on petite French cabriole feet, the bookcase also has paneled sides, rounded beveled-edge tops and a lovely original oak finish.  Quality throughout, well built by craftsmen of the period, circa1920.

NOTE: A second matching bookcase is also available, with the shorter shelf section positioned to the right side rather than the left.

Measurements:  39.25” Height x 46.75” Width x 29.75” Depth.  The longer bookcase is 10” depth; shorter bookcase is 9” depth.  The longer shelves are 44.5” x 7.75”; shorter shelves are 19.25” x 7”.
