Antique English Trophy Baseball Soccer Swimming Award Plaque Silver Plate c1926.
Direct from England, just arrived in our most recent container, we have several of these one-of-a-kind English trophies that are brimming with provenance, and oh “the stories they could tell”!
This large oak shield sports trophy is highly engraved, with descriptive plaque at the top, that reads "Cromwell Road Council School".
The large silver plate shield is engraved “HOUSE SHIELD”, with superb details that include angels blowing trumpets on either side. The oval panel has three dimensional scenes depicting the three areas of competition: English baseball, Swimming, and Soccer.
Annual engraved medallions surround the center plaque, with winners for years ranging from 1926 to 1957. Winner’s names include “Vikings”, “Saxons”, Romans” and “Britons”. Some also include the team Captain’s names!!
Measurements: 22” ht. x 16.5” x 1.75”.
