~Ornately carved antique French “octagonal” table with impressive silhouette and commanding design!~ ~This style table was originally used with large tapestry “throne” chairs, thus the large scale and carvings~

~In today’s home this table would make a statement in any room, and placement is easy, as it can “float” in the middle of your room because there’s no “backside” ~ ~Wide apron has outstanding hand carved foliate and scrolls across the entire apron on all eight sides. Notice the lower trim below the apron, on both sides of each leg and in the panel centers, also carved!~

~Thick French barley twist legs and barley twist cross stretcher (beautiful look and always a sign of quality)~ ~Carved block joints and thick pear feet~ ~Solid oak octagon top with carved banding and carved beveled edges~ ~Heavy and strong, well built by craftsmen of the period~ ~c1890s~
