Direct from France, a very special French lavabo or wall fountain! A carved fleur de lis crown atop the large, serpentine carved oak panel, which provides the perfect backdrop for the brass pieces.
The large, dual handle, brass, upper lidded reservoir/vessel has a fabulous repousse style crest that features rampant lions flanking the shield, and triple castles above the shield; a banner with inscription is below. Large brass basin hangs below, with etched fleur de lis on the back, and smaller brass bowl hangs to the right. These kind of fountains were often used after mass for ceremonial washing. circa1899. Simply a stunning item for any French kitchen or décor, and certainly a conversation piece in any home!
