Antique English Tiger Oak Pipe Smoke Stand Cabinet Table Humidor Box Shelf 1894
Antique English Oak Pipe Smoke Stand Cabinet Table Humidor Box 1894
~Direct from England~
our most recent buying trip, we have an ENTIRE COLLECTION of antique English
“gentleman’s cabinets”!! Many have
dated, engraved presentation plaques, and all of them are fabulous!~
~Typically these boxes were used for storing pipes, tobacco and card games for men. Today, our customers use them as conversation pieces, decorative items, and YES, as jewelry boxes.~
~THIS CABINET is definitely the most unusual of the group, and actually the only one of this style we’ve ever found. Certainly it could be used as it was originally intended, but IMAGINE IT AS A SMALL CABINET IN A POWDER ROOM OR OFFICE! Truly the possibilities are endless for this unique piece!~
FIVE SEPARATE DISPLAY AND STORAGE AREAS:
open shelf has 5 pipe rack and plenty of room for display~
~Mid level open shelf for more display and storage~
~DOOR for enclosed storage~
~DRAWER pulls out for storage (dovetail joinery on the drawer)~
~Lower open shelf for more room!~
~Original British Registry tag, “225548” on the front. Of course that can be researched and reveals this design was originally done in 1894!~
~Pretty oak grain and finish, well built by craftsmen of the period~
47”height x 12” x 8.75” (tall and thin).
Inside cabinet storage area, approx. 11”height x 10” x 8”.
Lower shelf area, approx. 11” x 8”.
Professional packaging and shipping on this item will be $85.00. (Lower 48 states only). Professionally prepared for shipment by UPS/FedEx with CUSTOMIZED PACKAGING, fully insured and delivered PROMPTLY AND DIRECTLY to your door by UPS (or FedEx).
This item is in good condition for its age, with normal signs of age and use, dings, scratches, and other imperfections. Chips to the wood edges around the lock; key included but old locks are finicky and never guaranteed. Stains/fading/wear to the finish. The upper little pipe rack has some broken edges on the BACK side, looks like maybe it was knocked off and re-attached at some point (noticeable on the back, so not an issue).
I always provide multiple photos that should be considered as an integral part of the description and I encourage you to email me with any questions you might have prior to making a purchase. Please keep in mind antique furniture should be purchased for its uniqueness, higher quality material and craftsmanship and antique patina, charm and character….NOT for like-new condition!!!
