19th century French Louis XV Bed Carved Walnut Rococo European Size with Rails.

Direct from France, a gorgeous antique French bed, with headboard, footboard AND original rails! With a glamourous serpentine form, the headboard features a carved center crown having dimensional floral and rococo “C” scroll.

Further note, the headboard and footboard have identical, large carved medallions that include lavish open blossoms amidst foliage, presented on a beveled serpentine platform. Original rails have an elegant serpentine shape with matchbook veneer and a center oval design. Fabulous construction by craftsmen of the period; note this is a European size bed and needs modification for US sizing. Circa1890.

Measurements: Headboard, 63.5” ht. x 59.5” x 4”. Footboard, 36” ht. x 59.5”. Rails are 74.5” length. This bed is a European size, which can easily be converted to an American size by a variety of methods: (1) purchasing inexpensive metal adapters online or (2) removing the rails and attaching the headboard and footboard to a universal metal bed frame.
