19th century French Carved Walnut Bench Ottoman Seat Louis XIV Baroque style.
Direct from France, a stunning 19th century French long bench.
The solid walnut bench frame features opulent hand carvings, clearly by a master carver, with a Black Forest style attention to details!
Wide apron features dimensionally carved oval linkage amidst carved foliate scrolls. Four thick, serpentine legs have upper carved fruits and foliage that continue to the wide, carved lower platform base.
Heavy, solid, with original springs and original upholstery;
skillfully constructed by craftsmen of the period, circa1880.
Measurements:
22” ht. x 48.5” x 19”.
16.5” ht. to top of wood.

Good condition for its age, normal signs of age, use, dings, scratches, imperfections. Heavy, sturdy frame with original springs; original upholstery is stained and very worn.
