19th century French Cabinet Barley Twist Black Forest Wine Bar Carved Oak Fish
19th century French Hunt Cabinet Barley Twist Black Forest Wine Bar Carved Oak .
Directly imported from France, a beautifully hand carved 19th century French confiturier cabinet.
These cabinets are one of our most requested antiques, as they have so many uses in today’s home; from a vanity in the bath, to the kitchen, the foyer with a mirror above, as a wine/liquor cabinet in any room…just imagine the possibilities! (Added bonus, note the shorter height on this cabinet).
This cabinet features a thick, beveled edge oak top extending over two full length barley twist columns. The large, dimensionally carved door panel has geometric trim around a medallion of carved French ribbon over “spoils of the hunt” … Black Forest carvings of several fish amidst foliage. Large, stepped out lower carved moulding on all three sides.
Quality throughout, well built by craftsmen of the period, circa1890.
