Antique Carved Wood BLACK FOREST Monkey Dutch Shoe Police German Ink Well

~NOTE:  This is one of several outstanding antique Black Forest pieces we acquired directly from a dealer in France that liquidated their entire personal collection!  It is a rare opportunity to obtain pieces that don’t often become available such as: A Black Forest cave a liquor with hunt dog; a Black Forest sheet music box; a Black Forest barometer; a Black Forest hunt dog on folding wall shelf!~

~Exquisite attention to the details, the monkey’s hair, his face, his arms and even his FINGERS!!~

We haven’t been able to determine what it represents exactly.  Monkey sitting on the wooden shoe, almost looks like he represents military.  And the shoe is like a carriage with a light on one side.~

~Notice the little arm patch on the left arm has a “P”~
~The carved Dutch shoe he is sitting on has carved initials “JBL” or maybe just “BL” on the side~

~Obviously this was created by a master carver~

~An old carved Black forest quill is included, although we don’t know if it was original to the piece~
