19th century French Oak Sofa Table Writing Desk Carved Black Forest Barley Twist.
Direct from France, a lovely antique French writing desk or sofa table in a very versatile size with elegant features!!
Large, lovely barley twist legs as well as a long barley twist cross stretcher and side stretchers.
Outstanding Black Forest carving across the drawer fronts and represented in the carved foliage drawer pulls. Other carving features include carved corner blocks and the elegant carved, beveled edge top. Finished on all sides, carved beveled edge top, perfect to ‘float’ in the center of a room or use between chairs. Quality throughout with dovetailed drawers; well built by craftsmen of the period, circa1900.
