Antique English Arm Chair Carved Oak Throne Barley Twist Renaissance Cane Seat.

 Direct from England, a gorgeous antique English arm chair with beautiful hand carved features!  British BARLEY TWIST provides a royal impression, with barley twist stiles, arms, arm supports, as well as barley twist on all the legs and the stretchers!!

The ornate back rail features scalloped edge with carved scrolls and foliate between two large, turned finials, with carvings continued down the shaped splat.  A renaissance flair is found in the large, dimensionally carved serpents at the end of each arm.  Note carved beveled edging to the seat front and carved blocks on all the joints.  A lovely cane chair seat completes the superb details! Sturdy and strong, well built by craftsmen of the period, c1890.

Measurements:  42.5” ht.  x 24.5” x 24.5”.  17.75” seat height. 19” across chair back. 17.5” between front arms.
