19th century French Glass Vitrine Display Cabinet Carved Oak Louis XV Music Motif.
Direct from France, a lovely and very versatile antique French “vitrine” or bookcase. With true Louis XV style throughout, the highly carved cabinet features a dimensional hand carved floral basket to the crown.
Beveled serpentine edges surround the original glass door panel, with carved shell and florals to the sides.
Lower door has recessed panel, with serpentine beveled edges in a similar manner and carved French MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS!!!
Carved front to the lower drawer and across the lower serpentine apron.
Elegant carved French cabriole legs; carvings to the rounded front edges; large French hinges.
Quality throughout, well built by craftsmen of the period. Note the ORIGINAL old wavy glass with bull’s eyes and other elements of hand creation; circa1890.
Measurements:
73” ht. (over 6 ft. tall) x 27” x 16.5”.

Condition:
Good condition for its age, normal signs of age, use, dings, scratches, imperfections. Key included, but old locks are not guaranteed. Original old glass; tiny chip to one edge at the cabinet door top. Possible lock replacements. Included multiple photos should be considered as an integral part of the description.
